Reoxidation Rate of Sponge Iron Pellets, Briquettes and Iron Powder Compressed to Various Compressions in Air
The reoxidation rate of sponge iron pellets and briquettes and oxidation of pure iron powder with compressibility between 27% and 55% in air and within the temperature range 300-900°C has been investigated. Factors affecting the oxidation rate are presented. These include the effect of temperature, compressibility, and sintering of Fe-powder before and during the oxidation.
متن کاملOptimization of a simulated iron-oxide pellets induration furnace
Induration furnaces for iron-oxide pellets are expensive processes, due to their high energy consumption. Moreover, they are highly interactive and then complex to control. Real-time optimization strategies based on reliable process models are thus necessary. However, induration furnaces are described by distributed-parameter models that require long computation times. The performance of IMCopt...
متن کاملMicrowaves Applied to Carbothermic Reduction of Iron Ore Pellets
Results of reducibility tests of reduction conducted on iron ore pellets with carbon are presented in this work. Work done is centered on reduction kinetics using carbon as reducing agent with conventional heat supply (heat transfer process) compared with reduction kinetics where heat is supplied by microwaves to the whole volume. Ore used in this work is called "Alzada" which has reducibility ...
متن کاملAnthropogenic iron oxide aerosols enhance atmospheric heating
Combustion-induced carbonaceous aerosols, particularly black carbon (BC) and brown carbon (BrC), have been largely considered as the only significant anthropogenic contributors to shortwave atmospheric heating. Natural iron oxide (FeOx) has been recognized as an important contributor, but the potential contribution of anthropogenic FeOx is unknown. In this study, we quantify the abundance of Fe...
متن کاملSynthesis of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles using Borohydride Reduction
Iron oxide (Fe2O3) nanoparticles were synthesized by a simple approach using sodium borohydride (NaBH4) and Iron chloride hexahydrate (FeCl3.6H2O). Their physicochemical properties were characterized by high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and electron dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). XRD pattern showed that the iron...
